The name Darwin is chosen because we believe human race is an evolution process. The fittest will survive and the natural selection will decide the winner. Darwin aims to provide education and training opportunities to the Chinese. As a result, there will be fittest and winners in China through the assistance of Darwin Education Group.
Founders of Darwin are educated in Singapore Chinese schools, where graduates command a better understanding of Chinese history, literature, language, traditional value and business practice. This unique background of Chinese education has motivated us to work together to strike for higher achievement in China. The love of Chinese language and culture has made us look beyond financial gains. We, therefore, look for passion, version, action and personal satisfaction in providing life-long education in China.
Among the founders, there are life-long Chinese teachers, visiting lecturers, Chinese business, legal and education advisors, China representatives, educational solution providers, investors, businessmen plus well-connected Chinese professionals from China.
There is a Board of Directors that guides the development of Darwin Education Group. There 2 operating arms: Company and Academic Advisory Committee. The Company will be responsible for business development. It has administration, PR and marketing development. The Academic Advisory Committee will be responsible for the development of Darwin Management Centre. The Centre will have departments for academic development, student enrolment, lecturers & staff development etc.
A practicing advocate and solicitor firm in Singapore, T M Hoon & Co, has been appointed the legal advisor of Darwin Education Group. The chairman of the Board is Mr. Yap Pau Eng, former director of Singapore National Theatre Trust. There are 2 deputy chairmen: Mr. Yeo Siak Hwee, practising engineer having his own contracting business in Singapore and Dr. Chiu Lin Ban, former head of Chinese department at a Singapore junior college.
The Management team is led by CEO, Mr. Hun Chin Guan, former assistant director of Singapore National Theatre Trust and deputy CEO, Mr. Chang Leong Hua, former journalist and former senior trade analyst at Italian Trade Commission in Singapore. The project director is Mr. Choo Ging Yang, former account manager of Singapore Press Holdings.
